Julie Byworth-Morgan
Labour County Candidate for St Athan

I moved to St Athan in 1981 and after having my second child in 1995 started my close links with the local primary school joining the PTA and helping at events then becoming a parent-governor for eight years until my last child left for Llantwit Major School. I still take a keen interest in the school managing to maintain links including with the PTA. I am part of the Vale School Governor association and a Governor of Llantwit Major School.
I became a student rep for OUSA (Open University Student Association) Wales in 2014.
For the last six years I have been involved with the management of the Paul Lewis Community Centre and was very pleased to be able to organise the Halloween and Christmas Children’s parties after not being able to hold them due to Covid.
My particular favourite achievements as a community councillor was managing to hold St Athan Fete in the break between lockdowns and for the first time have poppies adorning the lamp posts for Remembrance Sunday .
