Our communities have never been more important. They provide a solid foundation to our lives particularly when times become increasingly difficult. We have:

• reversed Conservative cuts in funding for play areas
• spent more than £1.7 million on 28 play areas and open spaces in the last three years
• worked with local residents to plan facilities in their area
• invested £837k in the Strong Communities Fund to support community driven initiatives such as Rhoose Community Library, Colwinston Old Ford project and Llandow Village hall
• established a Vale-wide New Funding, Community Development team to replace the EU funded Creative Rural Communities that supported many major partnership initiatives such as Ogmore Village Hall
