Every person deserves the security of a home in easy reach of facilities. That’s why we’ve built the first council houses in a generation with ambitions to build more across the Vale. We have:

• spent over £11 million on resurfacing roads, pavements and potholes in the last three years
• built or are building 129+ new council homes
• built 11 step-up lodges in just six months to help homeless people get back on their feet
• invested in existing council homes, improving facilities and making them more energy efficient, warmer and cheaper to run
• increased the number of 20mph zones across the Vale
• increased active travel provision
• introduced residents’ parking to protect communities that are affected by problems including Barry Island and Cosmeston
• increased Disabled Parking provision, especially in visitor destinations e.g. Barry Island
