With 12 years of Tory-led austerity and a cost-of-living crisis, we’ve taken tough choices in order to protect vital services while minimising the financial burden on residents. We have:

• the 6th lowest Council Tax in Wales
• continued to be Wales’ Best Performing Local Authority since 2013
• reversed the Conservative cuts in play area funding and delivered more than £1.7 million on 28 play areas and open spaces in just three years
• invested over £11 million in roads and pavements in just three years
• saved Penarth’s iconic Pier Pavilion, turning it into a thriving arts and education venue
• delivered The Big Fresh Catering Company Social Enterprise turning a £350k loss in the school meals service into a £500k surplus that has been invested back into our schools and children
• worked with care providers and voluntary organisations to ensure our most vulnerable are supported
• supported communities through innovative solutions such as Food Pod
